About MA Knife

I come from West Bohemia and have been working in Cheb, a city with a long history and strong craft tradition, for many years. I am engaged in jewelry making and in recent years also in cutlery making. Both fields combine precise work with materials and an eye for detail, which for me is the essence of craft.

I founded my jewelry company in 1989. At first, I specialized in repairs and restoration, later I opened a shop in the center of Cheb and gradually added two more. The interest of customers convinced me that my work had a solid place in the market. After 2007, I decided to end my retail activity and focus exclusively on original creations. I built a modern workshop, the equipment of which corresponds to current trends and technological possibilities – from 3D printing and laser technologies to sophisticated modeling programs such as CAD, Matrix or Rhino, which allow me to design and produce jewelry with high precision.

Currently, I focus mainly on the production of diamond jewelry for goldsmiths and custom work. I place the greatest emphasis on the quality of workmanship and original solutions that meet the customer’s ideas. In addition to the technical side, I consider the ability to listen to be key, because the result should be a piece of jewelry that has personal value for its owner.

History of the MA Knife

In 2024, I expanded my activities to include cutlery. I learned the technique of making knives and Damascus steel from the blacksmith Vítek Mačas from Šindelová. I create knives mainly from Damascus stainless steel, into whose appearance I project my experience from jewelry work – I decorate some pieces with precious metals and stones. I also draw inspiration from nature and my hobby of fishing. I presented my first collection of knives in 2025 at the International Knife Exhibition in Brno, where I received an award for my work. This moment confirmed for me that connecting the craft of cutlery with elements of jewelry is a path that makes sense and opens up new possibilities.

Jewelry and cutlery represent two complementary areas for me. In both, it is about careful processing of materials, precision and finding solutions that give the resulting object a unique character. At the same time, I perceive that by combining both fields, it is possible to create things that are not only functional or aesthetic, but also have long-term value and the ability to appeal to a wider range of people.
